RIFCOS Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

RIFCOS LLC (“RIFCOS”, “we”, “us”) operates the RIFCOS mobile application and the booking website at rifcos.com, which connect customers with professional oyster shuckers and other event service providers. This policy covers both. It describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, and profile photo when you create an account.
  • Location: the event address you provide and its map coordinates, and any addresses you save. If you choose “Use current location,” your device’s location is used to fill in the address. Providers give a home base address, which we use to match them with nearby bookings, and share precise device location, including while the app is in the background, from about 6 hours before a booking starts until it ends, so the customer can follow their arrival. We also check a provider’s location when they arrive at the venue.
  • Payment information: processed by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store full card numbers; we keep your card’s brand, last four digits, and expiry date, Stripe’s reference to it, and payment status. Providers enter their payout bank details in the app, and those go straight to Stripe, which holds them.
  • Identity verification (providers): providers verify their identity through Stripe Identity, which collects government ID document images and selfies. RIFCOS receives only the verification result, never the documents.
  • Provider onboarding: photos of a provider’s equipment, a short setup video, and certification documents they upload for review.
  • Booking communications: in app messages between customer and provider for a booking, metadata for masked phone calls placed through Twilio, and the ratings and comments left after a booking.
  • Device identifiers: push notification tokens, and the device and browser information used for fraud prevention and maps. See “Device identifiers” below.
  • Usage and diagnostics: in the app, a record of the actions you take (for example, completing a step of a booking) and error reports, with your device’s platform, operating system version, and app version. These are linked to your account and used to operate, secure, and improve RIFCOS. We don’t use third party analytics or advertising tools, and the website runs no analytics.

Device identifiers

Some parts of RIFCOS only work by sending identifiers tied to your device or browser:

  • Push notification tokens. When you allow notifications, the app receives a token from Apple Push Notification service (on iPhone) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (on Android), and one from Expo, the service we use to deliver notifications. We store them with your account, and with a booking while it’s in progress so its live status can update on your lock screen or home screen. They are used only to send you booking updates, messages, and reminders, and are shared with Apple, Google, and Expo only to deliver those notifications.
  • Fraud prevention. Stripe’s code in the app, and Stripe.js on our booking pages, collect device and browser information (such as IP address, device or browser type and settings, and identifiers Stripe sets, including cookies on the website) to detect and prevent fraud when you pay or save a card.
  • Maps. In the app, maps, address search, and directions come from Mapbox and Google Maps Platform, and some provider screens use the Google Maps SDK on Android and Apple Maps on iPhone. The website uses Mapbox. These services receive the addresses and locations involved along with standard device or browser information. Mapbox’s web map also stores an anonymous identifier in your browser, and Google’s Maps SDK uses device identifiers of its own.

The website also uses your browser’s storage to keep you signed in and to remember a booking you haven’t finished. We don’t use advertising cookies, and we never use device identifiers for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How we use information

  • Matching customers with providers and dispatching bookings
  • Pricing, payments, tips, refunds, and provider payouts
  • Live arrival tracking during an active booking
  • Safety, identity verification, fraud prevention, and support
  • Service notifications (push, SMS, email) about your bookings and account
  • Understanding how the app is used and fixing problems

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third party advertising or cross app tracking.

Sharing

Information is shared only as needed to run the service: with the other party to your booking (your name, shown as first name and last initial, photo, event location, live location during the booking, and a masked phone line, so personal phone numbers stay hidden); and with service providers acting on our behalf: Stripe (payments, payouts, identity verification, and fraud prevention), Google (Firebase and Google Cloud for hosting, sign in, and data storage; Google Maps Platform for maps, address search, and directions; Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android notifications), Apple (iPhone notifications), Expo (notification delivery), Mapbox (maps, address search, and directions), Twilio (phone verification, text messages, and masked calling), Resend (email delivery), and Vercel (website hosting). While a provider is sharing their location for a booking, it is also used to show providers near other customers on our map. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deletion

We keep booking and payment records as required for accounting, disputes, and legal compliance. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account → Delete Account) or on the web (Account → Delete account; see rifcos.com/delete-account). Deleting your account removes your profile (name, email, phone number, and profile photo), saved addresses, stored payment methods, and the push tokens stored with your account, and takes your name off the booking records we keep. Identity verification data held by Stripe is redacted on account deletion.

Your rights

Depending on your state or country, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information. Contact us at info@rifcos.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children

RIFCOS is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
