We recommend booking at least 1 to 2 weeks in advance to help secure availability, especially for weekends. Reservations are sent to shuckers the day before your event, and you're confirmed the moment one accepts. Last-minute requests go out live, and anything less than 4 days out carries a short-notice premium of up to 1.2×.

Download the RIFCOS app and choose “Become a shucker” at signup, or pick it from the profile menu on an existing account.

Verify your identity with Stripe Identity: a government ID and a quick selfie.

Record a short setup video, your kit laid out and one oyster opened. Our team reviews it and lets you know the moment you're approved.

Go online and take the jobs that suit you.

You're an independent contractor

Not an employee. You choose which jobs to take and when you work, and you handle your own taxes.

You pick the work

Jobs appear on the board with the pay and the date. While you're online, new requests near you come straight to your phone. Nothing is assigned to you.

You bring your own kit

Knife, glove, sauces, and lemons are yours to supply. The app walks you through the full list.

Paid per job, weekly

Your payout is shown before you claim anything. Earnings release about 48 hours after the event, then pay out weekly to your bank.

Cancelling a claimed job costs you

Someone booked their party around you. Backing out of a job you accepted carries a $100 fee, and it has to be settled before you can take more work.

Ratings start at 5.00

Every shucker and every client starts at 5.00. Reviews are blind: nobody sees the individual stars or notes left about them, only their overall score.
